Adventure sports and Speight's are a natural fit. We are born of hard yakka, the great outdoors, generating a power of a thirst and enjoying satisfaction of a job well done at the end of the day with your mates and fellow competitors. If adventure sport matters to you, it matters to us, and that's why we're into it.
COAST TO COAST
The Speight's Coast to Coast is an event as diverse as the rugged New Zealand landscape it unfolds on. The course is simple, start at Kumara Beach on South Island's West Coast and finish 243km to the east at Sumner Beach. From the elite athlete to the weekend warrior, the individual to the team…the Speight's Coast to Coast is a unique two days enjoyed by all, no matter what the level of competitiveness. MOTUTAPU MOUNTAIN BIKE
Every March, off-road competitors gather at Glendhu Bay on the shores of Lake Wanaka to run, ride, walk and/or swim their way toward Arrowtown. It may be the most picturesque off road multi-sport race in the world. Each year it gets more and more popular. And by far the most popular event is the Speight's mountain bike event which features 42km of hard slog uphills and down dales. We're not sure why they keep coming back, but it may have something to do with the free ice-cold Speight's at the finish line.
The Dual is a unique event taking place on the Motutapu and Rangitoto Islands of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour. Its your only chance to ride a mountain bike through these protected nature reserves and take in some of the most spectacular views of Auckland city. After crossing some rugged terrain your thirst gets greater, so the free Speight's at the end goes down a treat.
SPEIGHT'S WEST COASTER
The Speight's West Coaster is an off-road running/walking event staged at the ruggedly beautiful Bethell's Beach on the West Coast of Auckland. You can participate in a very do-able but challenging 6km walk/run or for the hard out competitive of roaders there is the full marathon for individuals or teams. This isn't for the feint hearted with organisors describing the course as “pretty damn tough, with a touch of extreme for good measure”. Whatever event you're in, you're sure to appreciate a free Speight's at the end of a wild west coast day. Learn more here
